July 31, 2009 - 2:30pm - Seminar by visiting scholar Anibal Pauchard, Universidad de Concepcion, "Invasive Plants in Chile: Patterns, Mechanisms and Impacts".

March 25, 2009 at 1:00 pm - Seminar on doctoral research by Scott Sink, "Managing for old growth conditions in second growth temperate rainforests of south-central Chile". The seminar will take place in Jordan Hall Addition, Room 3213, on the North Carolina State University campus in Raleigh, NC.

March 9, 2009 at 4:00 pm - Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources Monday Seminar: Dr. Susan E. Moore will present a review of her November 2008 to February 2009 overseas work assignment in Valdivia working with the Facultad de Ciencias Forestales at the Universidad Austral de Chile to develop a forestry extension and outreach program. Departmental seminars are held in Jordan Hall Addition, room 1216, on the North Carolina State University campus in Raleigh, NC.

March 13, 2006 - A seminar was presented by Dr. Lee Allen, as part of the Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources seminar series open to all interested students and faculty. Dr. Allen, one of the project leaders, presented “Overview of the Forest Nutrition Cooperative's intensive silviculture research and our partners in South America - opportunities for research and graduate and undergraduate study”, highlighted the research he co-directs in Chile, and the possibilities for student involvement in these projects.

December 3, 2008 - Dr. Susan E. Moore presented the seminar "A Working Model for Forestry Extension and Outreach", to the Facultad de Ciencias Forestales at Universidad Austral de Chile.

September 27-28, 2007 - III Congress of the Latin American and Caribbean Association of Environmental and Natural Resources Economists,
Two doctoral students in the Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources will give presentations at this conference. Rodrigo Arriagada will speak on "Evaluacion de Iniciatives con Pagos Directos para Conservacion" and Simone Bauch will speak on "Buying direct from the producer: Choice of supplier in a regional market for non-timber for products."
