Note!! Forester Registration News House Bill 577 Requires Written Exams and Continuing Education Courses House Bill 577: An Act to Strengthen the Registration Requirement for Foresters has been ratified. This bill requires those who use the name "forester" in their titles to be registered. The bill also increases forester registration requirements. In the past, anyone with a four-year degree in forestry from an accredited college and two years of forestry experience could become registered without taking a written examination. Bill 577 states that everyone who applies for registration must pass a written exam. It also states that registered foresters must attend continuing education courses approved by the State Board of Registration for Foresters to maintain their registration. The Forestry and Environmental Outreach
Program at North Carolina State University is prepared to provide
Board-approved continuing education courses for registered foresters.
In addition, we will offer classes that review basic forestry concepts
to prepare those applying for forestry registration for the written
examination. |
