2005
Southern
Forest Tree Improvement Conference
June 20-23, 2005
Sheraton Capital Center Hotel
Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
The
conference proceedings are now available.
Welcome
The third generation of improvement from tree breeding programs
in the South is well underway. Seedlings derived from open-pollinated
3rd-cycle seed orchards (see
above picture), seedlings of mass control-pollinated full-sib families, clones
of rooted cuttings and somatic embryogenic seedlings are all having impacts on
productivity
and value of southern pine plantations. At the 28th SFTIC, we will celebrate
the numerous accomplishments in tree improvement and forest genetics while we
hear from scientists and practitioners that are setting the stage for even more
genetic gain in the future.
Please plan to join us in Raleigh, NC
for the 2005 Southern Forest Tree Improvement Conference. |
