The New Hanover County Cooperative Extension Service's Coastal Management & Commercial Horticulture Program addresses issues and needs in these areas. This program provides for the development and implementation of educational programs to meet the needs of the county population. Information and assistance is provided in the following areas:
dune preservation and stabilization,
coastal plants for erosion control,
coastal ecosystems,
soil testing,
insect and plant identification,
pest management,
