Congratulations!!!!

The Nash County Stockman's team did it again. Eight youth were among 144 participants to participate at the third annual Stockman's competition at the State Fair. Nash County participants were Lee Tyre, Jessica Hucks, Abby Hucks, Dale Winstead, Christopher Mize, Megan Vester, Tyler Mills, and Nicole Philips. Senior team A made up of Lee Tyre, Abby Hucks and Jessica Hucks placed fourth and Senior Team B made up of Nicole Philips, Christopher Mize and Megan Vester placed sixth. Well Done!! These teams will begin to meet after the first of the year. Juniors are youth ages 9 - 13 and the 14 - 19 year old are seniors. If you interested in participating on one the junior or senior teams please contact our office.



Leaders Association Meeting

Tuesday, November 14, 2000 @ 7:00 p.m.

Mark your calendars and plan to attend. We will feature one of the curriculum boxes. Also review the Leaders Handbook. Leaders, if you have any questions, please let me know. The Leaders handbook will be available for those who have not picked theirs up. Please note this meeting is open to all parents and volunteers.



County Council Meeting

Tuesday, November, 14, 2000 @ 7:00 p.m.

Mark your calendars and plan to attend. The program will be on "Asset Building". The county council meeting is opened to all 4-H members ages 5 and up. Also we will make plans for the Election Lock-In and talk about the new county council officers application.



County Council Officers Application

Due January 5, 2001

If you are interested in running for an office, please give me a call and I will send you an application. Officers will be elected at the Election Lock-In planned for January 12 - 13th. You must be present to campaign, conduct a speech and be at least 12 years old. Officers meet once a month to plan the County Council meeting and then participate in the County Council meeting once a month. Obligations of hours per month are between 5 - 10 hours. Officers will also be responsible for conducting workshops for 4-H members.



Holiday Fashion Show

Sunday, November 12, Ag Center @3:00 p.m.

The Nash County Exchange Club is hosting a Holiday Fashion Show. In addition to fashions from a local dress shop, a representative with kitchen products will prepare food items and a local florist will provide holiday decorations. Should be lots of fun. Call our office for ticket information.



Ski Trip

Tuesday, January 2, 2001

It is that time again to begin planning our annual ski trip to Wintergreen Virginia. We will leave from Rocky Mount's Golden East Crossing Mall at 5:30 a.m. and return at 9:00 p.m. The cost includes coach transportation, ski lift ticket and equipment rental. Call our office for ticket information. Register by Friday, December 1. Seats are limited.
