Questions and Answers
Having a problem making your garden grow? Wondering how to
remove that stain from your favorite shirt? Give us a call at
(910) 576-6011 and we just might be able to answer your burning

Publications
Our office keeps a vast library of Extension publications on hand
for the public. Most of them are free or cost very little.
Areas of interest include gardening, horticulture, home
economics, financial management and more. Stop in to browse the
selection.
Plant and Pest Identification
If you'd like a plant or tree identified, or a problem diagnosed,
bring us in a sample and we'll help you out. Or maybe you've
caught yourself an interesting insect. Bring it by (in a sealed
container, of course!)and we'll do our best to tell you what it
is and what you can do if its family is "bugging" you.
Soil Testing
When you are making decisions about fertilizing and liming your
soil, you may wish to bring in a sample for us to have analyzed
at the NCSU Soil Testing Lab. We have a special container,
instructions and a form you'll need to use. You can then bring
the sample back to us so we can take it to Raleigh to be
analyzed.
Video Checkout
We have a great selection of educational videos that community
members can check out for $1.00, for a week at a time. Subject
areas include horticulture, agriculture and more. Visit the Video List for our complete

Educational Programs and Workshops
The Montgomery County Center offers educational programs in
workshops in a variety of areas including family issues, day care
training, horticulture and agriculture. Be certain to view the
Calendar for upcoming events.
Miscellaneous
Other services include Nematode and Nematode Problem Sampling;
Plant, Solution and Waste Analysis; Aquatic Weed Identification
and Control; Weed Identification and Control; and Feed and Seed
Testing.
