If you live in Mecklenburg and do not
have a NC Applicators license or have not received a newsletter and would like
to be added to the list contact Jim Monroe.
-
If you are applying pesticides for profit or as an employee of a public agency, you must pass a test
offered by the NC Department of Agriculture. The NCDA and Cooperative Extension are
two different organizations.
-
Extension offers education to help pass the NCDA test and Extension offers recertification education
credits to maintain your license. Remember that Extension is an education agency and the NCDA is an
enforcement agency.
-
The NCSU Pesticide Applicator Training web
site has more information about registering for the NCDA test, ordering books, and other
information. Forms and fees should be mailed to Raleigh. Test dates for other areas are
listed also. A test is offered once a month in Raleigh. You are not required to take the
training before the test. However, the training is well worth it.
