The Mecklenburg County 4-H Horse Council supports educational activities for local youth interested in Horse Husbandry.  The Council meets on the last Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Harris Grille in Huntersville, NC.

As a Mecklenburg County 4-H specialized committee, the Council:

  • plans the annual Mecklenburg County 4-H Benefit Horse Show
  • provides financial support to 4-H equine educational contests, including Horse Bowl, Hippology, and Horse Judging
  • provides scholarships to members participating in district, state, and regional 4-H Horse shows and traveling on statewide teams
  • recognizes youth who are involved with the 4-H Horse program.

All adult volunteers contributing to the 4-H Horse program in Mecklenburg County (leaders, committee members, sponsors, parents, alumni and others) irrespective of race, color, creed, or national origin, are eligible for membership.
