DOVE OR QUAIL WITH SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE (can be used with chicken)
Fry meat just like chicken; serve with sweet and sour sauce. Sweet and sour
sauce: Combine 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup water, and 1/2 cup white vinegar in a
saucepan; cook until sugar is dissolved (about 5 min.). Mix in small container: 2
tbsp. cornstarch, 1 tbsp. water. Add this to hot sugar mixture and stir carefully
until thickened. Cool 1 minute. Add 2 tbsp. catsup and 2 tsp. mustard. Use as
dip. This sauce freezes well.
