“Planting Herbs for the Season”
Youth based cooking programs providing hands-on experience utilizing local foods. Teaching skills that will last them for the rest of their lives. An opportunity to learn a board spectrum of topics from how the food is grown to preparation involving food safety to storage. But more importantly learning that healthy foods can also be fun foods.
These programs are held on weekdays and weekends througout the year. The target ages of the youth are 9 to 15 years. The location of the program is Chatham County Center, Chatham Agriculture Building, Top Floor in the Food Demonstration Laboratory. Skill levels are beginning to wanting just to improve those skills. Cost vary depending on the program.
