program with over 15,000 trained volunteers who work in
partnership with their
county Cooperative Extension Service office to extend information
throughout the

Master Gardeners Volunteers of
Guilford County are part of the volunteer staff of North
Carolina State University's Cooperative Extension Service in the
College of
Agriculture and Life Sciences. They
provide unbiased, research-based educational assistance and
programs in

Master Gardener
Volunteers are citizens trained in
horticulture to help Guilford County to practice Best
Management Practices
(BMPs) in the landscape, vegetable gardens, and turf areas
through proper
use of pesticides, fertilizers, plant selection, and water
usage.
When citizens follow these BMPs, they receive the
