Commercial Horticulture

Comercial horticulture is comprised of nursery/greenhouse production as well as the landscape industry and turf grass management. The Green Industry is the most rapidly growing segment of agriculture nationally and in North Carolina. Cooperative Extension in Guilford County assists this industry in many ways, one of which is through on nursery research projects that increase production and efficiency. We are currently working with propagation practices, plant growth regulator, plant studies and efficiency. Our assistance has helped enhance the Green Industry income in Guilford County to $80 million in 2005.
