4-H Home What is 4-H? Volunteer Opportunities

4-H

4-H members work through clubs, or as individual Members-at- Large. Club members work together on projects as well as have social meetings. We have two types of clubs in our area:
  • Community Clubs include people from the same area of the county. Some of our clubs meet as part of the Community Schools after-school program, others meet evenings at church or homes. The 4-H Office can tell you where the closest community club meets or, can help you organize a club in your community.
  • Project Clubs study mainly one area of the 4-H Program such as Horses or Sewing.
Below are other types of opportunities for youth to get involved in our program:
  • Members At Large 4-Hers work independently in projects of their choice. Your parents will be your advisor on projects and activities.
  • County Programs are open to everyone ages six to nineteen. All 4-H Camps are open by age to members and non-members on a first-come first-serve basis.
