NC Snake Pictures / Striped Garter Snake

Nonvenomous; 18 - 51 inches. A color variation of Common Garter Snake.
Found in moist vegetation during the day.
Feeds on frogs, worms, salamanders, and toads.
Ill tempered only if captured, it will bite and release a foul musk.
