4-H Embryology Project

baby quail Teach the joy of life to second grade students through the 4-H Embryology program. Increase students' interest in science, their participation in class and their appreciation for living creatures during this four week program.

New teachers to the program must attend a two hour training session. Seasoned teachers can attend as a refresher course. 4-H supplies quail eggs, teaching material and technical support. All 2nd grade public school teachers in Gaston County are given the chance to participate in this exciting program. The program is in its fourteenth year. The experience of seeing quail hatch is awesome for the youth! This year over 1000 youth in Gaston County participated in the four week Embryology program. The program is offered in the fall. Don't let this wonderful opportunity pass you by. It is an experience your students will never forget!
