Bald Mountain Christmas Trees There are educational and applied research programs dealing with every aspect of Christmas tree production at North Carolina State University's Mountain Horticultural Crops Research & Extension Center (MHCR&EC). Special emphasis is placed on the sustainability of Fraser fir production in western North Carolina and helping growers protect the environment.
