Important Pesticide Application Considerations
Types of Sprayers
Boom sprayers
Boom sprayers may be mounted on tractors or ATVs. Nozzles can be positioned and adjusted as needed to give good spray coverage. The disadvantage to boom sprayers is the need to drive through every row or every other row to get coverage. Trees may need to be planted on 6 foot or even greater spacing. Guards may be used to shield the bottom branches from being pulled into wheels.
