Materials Needed
|
- Grocery store circulars
- Cardboard, glue, scissors
- Laminate
- Sheet with a list of products and prices
- Skill builder for the winner or winning team
|
|
Preparation
|
- Find around 50 to 100 "bargains" in grocery store circular
and cut out.
- Cut out cardboard circles to fit your "bargains" on.
- Glue "bargains" to the circles and laminate if possible.
- Have a sheet with all of your "bargains" listed. You may
want to make notes next to the "bargain" and tell why and
how you are saving money. Good teaching opportunity. Example: Buy one/get one free Oscar Mayer Hot Dogs save $2.69 but if you buy Gwaltney chicken franks at $1.09 you would save more

|
Activity
|
- Place all the circles around the table.
- Divide participants into teams.
- Tell them that you are going to read off a "bargain" and
each person will have a chance to find that "bargain" and
pick it up.
- The team with the most "bargains" at the end of the game
is the winner.
- Reinforce the rules that no one can push or shove or grab another
person's "bargain."
- The winning team gets to choose skill builders.
