Purpose

 

To encourage smart shopping skills

Objective

 

To use smart shopping skills, specifically price recognition skills, to determine and make good buys

Time

 

About 20 minutes

Materials Needed

 

Several food products and the prices of eachPlay money.

Preparation

 

Gather the products and have prices printed on a recipe card for each product.

Activity

 

Have participants "come on down" and determine the correct price of each product. Then have participants "buy" $5 or $10 worth of foods from the display, purchasing as many of any item as they want and spending as close to the limit as possible without going over.
