Where's the Beef

Purpose

  • To help participatns see how far a cut of meet will go in a month

Objective

  • Participants will list as many meat dishes from the cuts of meat of a whole sirloin tip. Instructor will then take the answers and plug into the planning board activity for OFL Session 2 (monthly calendar can be substituted for the OFL planning board).

Time

  • 10 - 15 minutes

Materials Needed

Preparation

  • Make copes of the worksheet.

Activity

  • Pass out "Where's the Beef?" worksheet to each participant.
  • Have participants list as many beef dishes as they can in one minute.
  • The participant with the most suggestions wins a skill builder.
  • Have the participants suggest dishes from their worksheet as the instructor writes them on the planning board.
