APSAF 2007 Winter Meeting

Foresters' Fund Raffle and Auction

The Foresters' Fund chair for the Winter Meeting is Joe Stancar and Pat Wefel. They need your contributions of cool, one-of-a-kind items for the silent auction and raffle.

Why should we make a special effort to support the
Foresters' Fund Raffle and Silent Auction
at this year's 2007 Winter Meeting?

Consider the goals of the Foresters' Fund grant program: The SAF Foresters’ Fund grant program financially assists local SAF units in achieving the goals of the Society. The SAF Bylaws state that the goals of the Fund are to:

  • promote education to enhance public understanding of the role of professional foresters in forest resource management,
  • conduct forest policy activities, and
  • to strengthen state societies, divisions, and chapters in achieving the mission of the Society.  

 

Supporting the Foresters' Fund
at this year's Winter Meeting.

  • First, bring lots of $1, $5 and $10 currency to keep the raffle ticket sellers real busy!
  • Next, keep a pen in hand at all times in order to bid up those one-of-kind items at the Silent Auction tables.
  • Don't want the raffle items or Silent Auction goodies? Then why not make a Foresters' Fund Challenge to the rest of the attendees? For example, we announce that you will give $50 cash to the Foresters' Fund if three other attendees do the same - that's $200 for the Foresters' Fund and none of you get stuck with any stuffed skunks or Lagerstroemia indica coffee mugs and t-shirts!
