WHAT IS THE NC EXTENSION & COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION?


The primary objective of ECA is to crry out an informal educational program planned by ECA leaders to provide a better and more meaningful life for themselves, their families, and their communities.

An active member attends am monthly club meeting and receives educational information through a leader or guest presenter.

The membership of the ECA is composed ofmembers at all levels:  local, county, district and state.  Membership is open to all individuals regardless of color, creed, national origin, race, sex, age or disability.

NC Extension & Community Association members strive to promote a better quality of life for all through education, community service, and leadership.

Local ECA Volunteer Projects

  • Volunteer at local food banks
  • Assist with local government grand openings, i.e. parks, trails, new OC Courthouse, etc.
  • Provide items to Lake Waccamaw Girl's Cottages
  • Collect medicine bottles and stamps for Franklin Graham ministries
  • Assist with county fair educational booths
  • Contribute to Onslow County Public Library 's annual Comments Book
  • Assist with Festival of Trees
  • Provide items for 4-H Elder Cheer baskets
  • Provide Christmas shoe boxes for Samaritan's Purse
  • Contribute to Onslow County  Women's Shelter
  • Conduct fundraisers to support 2 local scholarship opportunities
