Fruit Tree Training and Pruning Demonstration

Where: Central Crops Research Station in the orchard. 13223 US Business 70 West, Clayton, NC

Dr. Mike Parker the Fruit and Nut Tree Specialist will be here to discuss the importance of training fruit trees while they are still young. He will also cover what to do if the trees are already overgrown and need some help in getting them back into shape. After the discussion Dr. Parker will demonstrate the pruning and training techniques he discussed on a few trees in the orchard. Pesticide credits for one hour have been applied for in the following categories L, N, O, and X.
