Tobacco Production & GAP Training

There will be several opportunities for tobacco producers to attend the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) training sessions and winter tobacco production meetings. These trainings and production meetings are being offered by the Cooperative Extension Service and the GAP training is required by the following companies:

RJ Reynolds, Phillip Morris USA, Japan Tobacco International, American Snuff Company, US Smokeless Tobacco Company, United Tobacco Company, US Tobacco Cooperative, Universal Leaf North America, Hail and Cotton, Inc. Alliance One International, Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Co.

GAP training is recommended by the following company: Phillip Morris International

Registration begins at 9:15 at each location and the training begins at 10am.

LUNCH WILL BE SERVED AT NOON, SO PLEASE CONTACT THE APPROPRIATE EXTENSION OFFICE SO MEAL PREPARATIONS CAN BE MADE.

If you have questions concerning requirements for GAP training, please contact you tobacco company representative. You will receive a certificate of attendance for the GAP Training, so you must pre-register by calling the number listed for the location you plan to attend.

2 hours of CCA & pesticide credits for catergories N, O, D, & X will be awarded for those attending the tobacco meeting which will begin immediately after lunch.

GAP Training: 10am-12pm
Pesticide Training: 1pm-3pm
