Area Tobacco GAP Training and Certification/Production Meeting
This year our area tobacco production meeting will also include GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) Training/Certification for area tobacco growers. This is one of 13 area certification meetings across the state of NC that will provide you with the opportunity to receive your GAP Certification. The tobacco companies that you do business with in 2013 will require each grower/individual who would like a contract to be GAP Certified before they will provide you with a contract. This year's meeting will be held in Louisburg at the Green Hill Club (252 Club Rd. Louisburg, NC 27549) with registration starting at 9:15 with the GAP Training starting at 10:00 am then followed by a sponsored lunch. Following lunch we will have a production meeting pertaining to issues that occurred in the field in 2012. Please call the Franklin County Cooperative Extension Office at 919-496-3344 by Friday December 21st to register for the meeting. We only have space for 180 people so we encourage early registration. We encourage only those who have contracts or plan to have contracts to attend this meeting.

If you have questions concerning requirements or recommendations for GAP training, please contact your tobacco company representative.
You will receive a certificate of attendance for the GAP training so you MUST pre-register by calling the number listed for each location. In addition, seating is limited at each location to the capacity of the site.
