FORECAST SUMMARY: Thursday, October 23 :


***** The Weather...... southern / eastern U.S. ***** Cool dome of high pressure settling over the eastern U.S. today brings dry weather Thursday and Friday. Some clouds and a chance of light rain or snow across the far north today due a departing area of low pressure. A weak cold front will descend into the southern areas tonight and Friday.... but with so much dry air already in place, only some cloudiness will be associated with this front, and not much of that. Frosts possible tonight in the mid-Atlantic states. A vigorous cold front will move into the eastern and southern U.S. this weekend. After a dry day Saturday, look for increasing clouds and a chance of showers on Sunday. Showers probable many areas late Sunday and Monday.

 

***** The Forecasts *****

Eastern United States.... Low Risk all areas Thursday and Friday. Unfavorable conditions for disease development will continue on Saturday. Conditions will begin to deteriorate on Sunday, becoming mixed in the Southeast and mid-Atlantic, with favorable conditions in the east on Monday. Mostly unfavorable weather will be found in the southern FL region Saturday through Monday.

Texas..... Low Risk for this region Thursday and Friday. The weather system approaching from the north will bring mixed conditions Saturday, favorable conditions Sunday, unfavorable weather Monday.

23 October: Frost advisories are likely tonight in the upper mid-Atlantic states, with frosts possible in VA and northern NC. The threat of disease development will be greatly lessened, or over, in these regions for the remainder of this growing season.
