25 November 2003 Downy Mildew Forecasts

 

***** Forecast notes - 25 November ***** Today's forecasts will be the last for the 2003 growing season. Downy mildew is still active in southern TX and southern FL. We appreciate everyone's support and cooperation with this year's efforts!!

FORECAST SUMMARY: Tuesday, November 25 :

***** The Weather...... southern / southeastern U.S. ***** Dry conditions under sunny to partly cloudy skies for most areas Tuesday and Wednesday. A dissipating front across northern / central FL brings some clouds and perhaps a shower along the peninsula. The next weather maker for the southern U.S. will be a potent storm system that will be forming in the southern plains later today and tonight..... then moving east Wednesday and Thursday. It will bring clouds and a chance of showers to the known source regions in southern NC, southern GA, and southern FL on Thursday. A hard frost or freeze will likely occur in southern NC within the next week.

 

***** The Forecasts *****

Southern / Southeastern United States.... Unfavorable conditions for survivable transport and deposition are expected from all the known sources Tuesday and Wednesday, with long-range events a Low Threat. Isolated showers may provide some locally favorable conditions for parts of southern FL today. In general, however, Low Risk for cucurbit crops across the southern U.S. Tuesday and Wednesday. Mixed to favorable conditions will arise in the Southeast on Thursday with the approach of the next storm system.
