FORECAST SUMMARY: Tuesday, August 19 :

***** Disease Update - 19 August .....Yet another DM report from central NC.... this one from the northern coastal plain in Edgecombe County. A 3-acre pumpkin field is about 70% infected. Bravo has been applied and appears to be working. This is moderately serious source. Users should refer to the trajetories out of central NC to determine where spores from this site are moving.

***** The Weather...... southern / eastern U.S. ***** High pressure now centered over the mid-Atlantic states will drift to the east. A stationary front over the Southeast will dissipate during the next two days. Dry conditions and sunny to partly cloudy skies for much of the eastern and southern U.S. today and Wednesday. However, fog or low clouds will be around during the mornings in some areas due to lingering low-level moisture and soggy soils. Scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms are expected across the Gulf coast states, the Southeast, and parts of the southern Appalachian Mountains.

***** The Forecasts ...... favorable weather in the Southeast today and Wednesday. Strongly Moderate Risk for the FL peninsula and southern GA both days. Expect varied weather conditions in the southern Appalachian Mountains, ranging from unfavorable in the western half to mixed in the eastern half. Low Risk in the western half of the southern mountains each day, Moderate Risk eastern half. Unfavorable weather is expected in the mid-Atlantic and Ohio Valley regions as well as for Texas. Low Risk to cucurbit crops near the sources in these regions Tuesday and Wednesday.
