*** Active weather will accompany a cold front moving into the eastern U.S. during the next several days. Scattered showers and thunderstorms west of the mountains Thursday and Friday. The front will likely weaken after it passes over the Appalachian Mountains. A few showers may occur in the north, but much of the coastal states will be dry through the weekend. Daily rounds of scattered showers are expected in FL and southern GA.*** With high pressure off the coast and a cold front approaching from the west..... trajectories will be generally moving to the north or northeast each day. In the Southeast..... Moderate Risk for central FL and the FL panhandle Thursday and Friday. Strongly Moderate Risk for southern GA Thursday and Friday. Moderate Risk for eastern AL, western GA, and southeast TN Thursday and Friday. From the Charleston source.... Moderate Risk for southern and western SC and western NC on Thursday. Moderate Risk for western SC, western NC, and far southwest VA on Friday, with Low Risk near the source. Saturday and Sunday.... mixed conditions in FL, favorable weather in southern GA, and unfavorable weather in eastern SC.
In the mid-Atlantic states... unfavorable conditions will dominate each day from NC northward through southern NJ. Partly cloudy skies may provide enough cover for survivable transport to the north, which will result in Weakly Moderate Risk for central and eastern PA and central and eastern NY on Saturday and Sunday. Low Risk for the source regions and nearby areas Thursday through Sunday.
In the Midwest.... active weather near the cold front today and Friday, followed by unfavorable conditions behind. On Thursday.... Strongly Moderate Risk for eastern IL, western IN. Moderate Risk for wester and northern sections of Michigan's lower peninsula. On Friday... Strongly Moderate Risk for southeast IL, and western and northern IN.
