8 October 2002 Downy Mildew Forecasts

 

FORECAST SUMMARY - Tuesday, October 8

***** A stationary front lies across the Southeast and deep South this morning. It will waver in place over the next two days. High pressure centered over southern Ontario and southern Quebec has control over the north and is sending cool air down the eastern seaboard. Chance of showers across the south Tuesday and Wednesday, extending northward into the southern Ohio Valley on Wednesday. Chance of light rain or drizzle in the mid-Atlantic region and the mountains. A cold front will move through the northern tier on Wednesday, but little to no rain is expected from its passage as it is weak and there is little moisture to work with. Cloudy Southeast on Tuesday, partly cloudy most other areas. Cloudiness enveloping more of the eastern U.S. on Wednesday. Highs in the 60's and 70's north, 80's south.

Tuesday..... Strongly Moderate Risk for southern SC. Moderate Risk for GA, southeast AL, northern SC, NC, and western VA. Low Risk elsewhere.

Wednesday..... trajectories in IN and southern GA move slowly northwest. Trajectories from the sources along the East Coast tend to move initially west followed by curving to the northeast. Strongly Moderate Risk for southern SC, southern GA, and southeast AL. Moderate Risk for eastern and northern GA, western SC, NC, northern VA, MD, DE, NJ, and southeast PA. Low Risk otherwise.
