FORECAST SUMMARY: Thursday, April 11:
*** Warm, humid, and somewhat unsettled weather is expected in the Southeast today and Friday, but conditions near the southern FL source region will be mostly unfavorable for disease development *** Trajectories are moving to the northwest and north Thursday and Friday. Chance of disease development near the source appears slim, with partly cloudy skies and only a slight chance of daily showers. However, some spores are expected to survive the transport northward toward the FL panhandle and deep South, where conditions are more favorable for disease development. For Thursday's event.... Low Risk near the source. Moderate Risk to cucurbit crops in central and western sections of the FL panhandle and southeast AL. On Friday..... Low Risk near the source. Moderate Risk for west-central FL, eastern sections of the FL panhandle, and southwest GA. Over the weekend..... Saturday's trajectory will likely be moving to the west. This should be a Low Threat scenario. Sunday's and Monday's events are too far out to comment on at this time. Should they prove significant, we will make every effort to provide you with updated forecasts.
