*** Active weather along the east coast of the U.S. today *** A cold front will move through the Atlantic Seaboard states today with showers and thunderstorms for most areas. Dry weather behind the front today west of mountains, extend to the east coast states on Friday. Another frontal system will move through the Great Lakes Friday and into the Northeast on Saturday while other areas remain largely dry. By Saturday..... a vigorous cold front now in Canada will swing down and affect the Mississippi River Valley on Saturday. This front will bring rain from the Great Lakes to the Gulf Coast on Sunday. Dry conditions east of the mountains on Sunday will give way to showers and thunderstorms on Monday.... if the timing of the weather features follows today's forecasts. Much cooler and drier behind this last cold front.
*** Episodes of favorable weather will affect the East Coast states today, and the Ohio Valley region on Sunday *** Unfavorable weather is expected for most areas at other times through Sunday. On Thursday.... there is Strongly Moderate Risk for northeast GA, northwest SC, southwest NC, eastern NC, eastern MD, DE, western MA, southern VT, and southwest NH. Low Risk elsewhere. Friday and Saturday..... Low Risk for most areas. Cucurbit growers west of the MS River and in the Northeast will face Moderate Risk on Saturday. Sunday..... weather favorable for disease development will be affecting a broad region from the Great Lakes southward through Mississippi and Alabama, with unfavorable conditions expected east of the Appalachians.
