FORECAST SUMMARY : Tuesday, October 23:
*** Active weather is expected in the Northeast, Great Lakes and Ohio Valley regions as two fronts move through these regions *** Dry, unfavorable weather is expected east of the Appalachians, in the mid-Atlantic and Southeast. Transport from the Ohio Valley and mid-MS Valley sources will be toward regions whose growing season is essentially over, so any disease development will be near to or just to the north of the sources. Strongly Moderate Risk Tuesday and Wednesday for north-central TN, central KY, northeast AR, southeast MO, southern IL. Strongly Moderate Risk for far western KY and far southwest IN on Tuesday, but not Wednesday. Low Risk elsewhere each day.
*** Please note: Absent any information to the contrary, we will operate under the assumption that a hard frost or freeze will effectively end the growing season (and hence the disease season) near any source area(s) so affected. Any information our users can provide, concerning the status of the growing season or the status of any downy mildew infections, would be greatly appreciated by the Forecast Center. ***
