5 June 2001 Downy Mildew Forecasts

FORECAST SUMMARY: Tuesday, June 5:

*** Conditions will be favorable for disease development near the southern FL source region Tuesday and Wednesday. *** Skies will be partly cloudy. Afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms are likely in some sections with a good chance (40-50%) in others. The threat of long-range transport is Low due to the expected trajectories and the mixed (but mostly unfavorable) sky conditions during the initial transport hours. Conditions near the source region are likely to remain favorable for disease development for most of this week.

*** Due to an illness in the family, detailed forecasts are not available today, and it may not be possible to produce forecasts on Thursday. We hope this does not present a significant inconvenience to our growers.
