FORECAST SUMMARY: Tuesday, June 19:
*** Disease Update - June 14 *** Our thanks to Tom Isakeit in College Station, Texas, who reports a serious outbreak of downy mildew near El Campo, Texas. Infection is widespread and severe in a one-acre field of cantaloupe. This source is being added to the forecasts today.
*** Mixed conditions for disease development in southern Florida; Unfavorable conditions for disease development in southeast TX. *** Neither source presents a threat to other growing regions Tuesday or Wednesday. Trajectories from southern FL move west each day. Sky conditions in southeast and south-central TX should prohibit any survivable transport of spores and the chance of rain is slim. Near the southern FL source region, mixed conditions will prevail. Moderate Risk for southern FL Tuesday and Wednesday. Low Risk elsewhere.
