FORECAST DISCUSSION: Thursday, September 14:
*** Long-range transport possible in the mid-Atlantic region ahead of a strong cold front *** A cold front now in the Midwest will move east and south during the next two days. It will be off the Atlantic coast by late Friday but will stall out in central FL. Conditions are somewhat favorable for survivable transport and deposition ahead of the front in the mid-Atlantic region, unfavorable elsewhere. Moderate Risk on Thursday for all of NC, southern and eastern VA, MD, DE, southeast PA, and NJ. Low Risk elsewhere. Low Risk for nearly all areas Friday through Sunday...... the one exception being Moderate Risk for the southern half of FL. The situation for FL may change, depending on what the developing Tropical Depression does. Updates will be produced if necessary.
