*** 8 August Disease Update *** Tom Isakeit in Texas informs us that the source region near Houston, TX is no longer a problem. The field was visited and there was no evidence of any disease. We are dropping the TX source area from the forecasts.
*** Chance of daily showers and thunderstorms in FL and southern GA; dry, unfavorable weather expected in southwest NC and Oklahoma. *** A cold front is moving into the Southeast. It will stall out and slowly dissipate Saturday and Sunday along the coast. Dry weather filters in behind the front... and more dry weather is expected in the Plains. Better chances of rain in Florida. Moderate to Strongly Moderate Risk for FL growers through Sunday. Moderate Risk for southern GA during the next several days. Low Risk for growers in OK and southwest NC / northwest SC.
