9 September 1999 Blue Mold Forecasts

 

FORECAST DISCUSSION: Thursday, September 9: *** Another cold front moving through the eastern U.S. *** Conditions are favorable ahead of the front and will turn unfavorable after it passes. Growers in southern New England are at Moderate Risk today, HIGH RISK on Friday, and Low Risk from Saturday through Monday. Growers in the southern Appalachian Mountains are at HIGH RISK on Thursday, with growers in eastern KY at Moderate Risk. Low Risk for the mountains and Ohio Valley Friday through Sunday. By Monday.... the next cold front will be approaching the Ohio Valley and there's a chance of showers in that region. It's too early to determine the chances of long-range transport, but some localized disease development is possible. Updates will be posted if necessary. TK
