12 May 1999 Blue Mold Forecasts

FORECAST DISCUSSION: Wednesday, May 12: *** Complex, active weather situation at hand for the next few days. *** However, as has been the case at other times this spring, good fortune is smiling on growers north of the current sources in the Southeast. Winds near the source areas are out of the west today and Thursday, so trajectories move off the coast. Risk to growers in the Carolinas, southern Appalachian mountains, and Tennessee Valley is Low both days. Some short-range disease development is possible in the southern GA and northern FL region. Weakly Moderate Risk on Wednesday; Moderate Risk on Thursday.

The sources in Cuba, Mexico, and southern Texas do not threaten any production regions the next two days. TK
