FORECAST DISCUSSION: Monday, May 10: *** Conditions are mostly unfavorable for disease development early this week.*** Sunny to partly cloudy skies will be dominant over much of the southeast U.S. Monday and Tuesday. Northern sections will remain dry. There is a chance of isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms in Florida and southern Georgia both days. No long-range transport is anticipated, but some localized disease development is possible near the source areas. Low Risk for most growers; Weakly Moderate Risk for growers in southern Georgia or northern Florida who receive some rain.
The sources in Cuba, Mexico, and southern Texas do not threaten any production regions Monday or Tuesday. TK
