28 July 1999 Blue Mold Forecasts

FORECAST DISCUSSION: Wednesday, July 28: *** A better chance of showers and thunderstorms will bring the risk of disease development to the southern Appalachian Mountains and parts of the Ohio Valley Wednesday and Thursday. *** Growers in the central and northern mountains of NC, northeast TN, extreme southwest VA, southern and western WV, and northern and eastern KY will be at Moderate Risk of disease development Wednesday and Thursday. There is also Moderate Risk for growers in southern New England on Thursday as the chance of thunderstorms rises for that region. Other growers in the mid-Atlantic states and the western Ohio Valley are at Low Risk today and Thursday. However, localized disease development may occur in these regions if the areas with currently inactive blue mold receive some rain. TK
