FORECAST DISCUSSION: Monday, July 12: *** Favorable conditions will prevail in the mid-Atlantic and the southern Appalachian Mountains Monday and Tuesday *** A stationary front is hung up in the Southeast and mid-Atlantic states. The following areas are at HIGH RISK today and Tuesday: Southeast VA, eastern and south-central NC, eastern and northern SC, and the mountains of NC.
*** Conditions in the eastern Ohio Valley are favorable on Monday but will be less favorable on Tuesday. Growers in southeast KY, northeast TN, and extreme southwest VA are at HIGH RISK on Monday. These areas will be at Low Risk on Tuesday. Other sources in the Ohio Valley are Low Threats both days, with Low Risk to growers.
*** In the northern mid-Atlantic and New England, growers are at Low Risk on Monday. Conditions will deteriorate on Tuesday, however. Growers in southern PA and southern New England will be at Moderate Risk on Tuesday as clouds and the chance of rain move into those regions. TK
