FORECAST DISCUSSION: Monday, August 2: *** Trajectories/individual forecasts are unavailable today. We should have them available again by Wednesday. ***
*** Dry, unfavorable weather will continue for Monday and Tuesday *** A cold front moved through the growing areas of the eastern U. S. on Sunday. The front approached the Ohio Valley and southern mid-Atlantic regions about 12 to 18 hours faster than anticipated this past Friday. Some areas, including parts of the eastern Ohio Valley and the southern Appalachian Mountains, had some significant rainfall while many other areas remained dry. Early this week.... sunny, cooler, and less humid weather will be dominant. Temperatures will be near seasonal norms and there is little to no chance of rain. Trajectories from all known sources will move to the south and southwest, but no long-range transport is expected. As always, some localized disease development is possible for those areas that received some rain. Otherwise, growers in the Ohio Valley, southern Appalachian Mountains, the mid-Atlantic states, and southern New England will be at Low Risk Monday and Tuesday. TK
