FORECAST DISCUSSION: Thursday, April 8: *** Forecast Update *** Conditions are only slightly favorable for long-range transport from southern GA toward the Carolinas today. Most spores should die from solar exposure. However.....there is a small but real possibility that some airborne spores may survive transport on Thursday and get washed out in NC on Friday. There is Low Risk for growers in GA and SC; Weakly Moderate Risk for growers in eastern NC. Deposition would occur sometime Friday afternoon in the sandhills or coastal plains. Eastern NC growers who get a shower or thunderstorm on Friday should watch their fields closely. TK
