FORECAST DISCUSSION: Wednesday, April 28: *** Conditions are very favorable for disease development in southern Georgia and northern Florida Wednesday and Thursday.*** Tom Kucharek in Florida reports that blue mold in northern Florida is slowly but steadily gaining strength. We thank both him and Paul Bertrand in Georgia for their recent, timely updates. There is little danger of long-range transport to other growing areas Wednesday and Thursday. However, growers in southern Georgia and northern Florida are at Strongly Moderate Risk both days. Growers in central Florida will be at Moderate Risk on Thursday.
The other sources are Low Threats and do not present a danger to the major production areas. TK
