FORECAST DISCUSSION: Thursday, March 20, 1997 - *** Threat from Cuban sources to Florida growers *** Today, as last Thursday, there is a serious threat to the Florida production areas from the diseased fields in Cuba. A frontal system is moving through the SE U. S. today. Clouds and showers are prevalent, and conditions are very favorable for sporulation, survivable transport, and effective deposition into Florida. Deposition is most likely to occur sometime Friday. Growers in central Florida are in a High Risk situation, and those in N Florida and S Georgia run a moderate risk of disease development. TK
