FORECAST DISCUSSION: Friday June 20, 1997 - *** Much improved weather situation for this weekend !!! *** The hot, sunny weather in store for this weekend will greatly limit the opportunity for disease development, especially Friday and Saturday. None of the sources are Serious Threats. Growers in the southern Appalachian Mountains will have some clouds and the chance of spotty showers, but the risk will be only Weakly Moderate. All other areas should be at Low Risk for spore releases Friday and Saturday. Sunday's weather may be more favorable for disease development in the Ohio Valley and mid-Atlantic regions, but at this time it appears the risk to growers will remain Moderate. There are NO HIGH RISK AREAS for the next two days !!! TK
SERIOUS SOURCE THREATS: NONE !!!
HIGH RISK GROWING AREAS: None !!!
***** NOTE: These forecasts/outlooks only apply to disease development from airborne transport of spores!!! We do not have the capability to ascertain blue mold development by other means, such as transplanting of infected seedlings, nor will we attempt to do so. Please consult the Extension Service personnel in your area if you have concerns about these matters! *****
