18 July 1997 Blue Mold Forecasts

FORECAST DISCUSSION: Friday, July 18, 1997 - *** Conditions are mostly unfavorable for disease development this weekend. *** The cold front approaching the growing regions from the north will have the greatest effect. Mostly sunny weather rules the scene, but locations near the front will have a chance of showers in the afternoons or evenings. Areas with the chance of showers will be at Moderate Risk, while others will remain at Low Risk. At this time, it doesn't appear that Hurricane Danny will be a factor until very late this weekend.

Here are the regions at Moderate Risk. These areas will be at Low Risk at other times, and the risk should be Weakly Moderate rather than Strongly Moderate: Connecticut on Friday; central TN and the southern Appalachian Mountains on Sunday; and for both Saturday and Sunday, there's western TN, western and north-central KY, SE Indiana, and southern Ohio. TK

SERIOUS SOURCE THREATS: NONE

HIGH RISK GROWING AREAS: NONE
