14 July 1997 Blue Mold Forecasts

FORECAST DISCUSSION: Monday, July 14, 1997 - *** The weather early this week is mostly unfavorable for disease development. *** There are NO High Risk areas or Serious Threats Monday and Tuesday. All the source areas are Low Threats for Monday's spore release, and growers are at Low Risk. However, a frontal system will move closer to the growing regions as the week progresses, and conditions will gradually become more favorable for disease development. For Tuesday's release, sources in the Ohio Valley and the southern Appalachian Mountains are Mild Threats, and growers in those areas will be at Moderate Risk of disease development. Locations east of the mountains will remain at Low Risk. Here are the Moderate Risk areas: SE Indiana, SW Ohio, Kentucky, central and eastern TN, western NC, SW Virginia, and southern WV. TK


SERIOUS SOURCE THREATS: NONE

HIGH RISK GROWING AREAS: NONE
