6 August 1997 Blue Mold Forecasts

FORECAST DISCUSSION: Wednesday, August 6, 1997 - *** Conditions unfavorable for blue mold will prevail for the next few days. *** There are only two places where the weather may be favorable for disease development today or Thursday. One is in the Connecticut growing region. There is a slight chance of showers today, and growers there may face a Moderate Risk of disease development if any occur. The other area is in the southern NC mountains. On Thursday, skies will be variably cloudy and there is a slight chance of afternoon showers, so growers in that region may also be at Moderate Risk. Otherwise, threat levels from the various sources are Low, and growers will be at Low Risk today and Thursday. Looking towards the weekend, unfavorable conditions are expected to continue over most of the growing regions.

Friday, August 8th, will be the last day for regular production forecasts this season. We will still be monitoring the disease situation behind the scenes, and additional forecasts will be posted as necessary. Please continue to check our site every so often !
